Too many posts to handle? If you missed out on a great post from last month, here’s a quick digest of the top posts that you may want to check out:
- Daily Links: Weekend EditionPosted on Saturday, January 10th, 2009 in Review – Comments: (3)I thought I’d take an opportunity to start putting together some of my favorite fitness and weight loss posts from around the web. So, here we go… Mac, over at Get Fit Slowly wrote an excellent article, in which he reviews his 2008 goals and formalizes his 2009 fitness goals. I really enjoyed this post, because it shows how even though we may not achieve our goals on the first round, keeping focused on them will get us there eventually.
- Do You Like To Run In Cold Weather?Posted on Saturday, January 17th, 2009 in Running – Comments: (2)Do you like to run in cold weather? I don’t mind running in cold weather. But there’s cold, and then there’s obscenely frigid. That’s what we’ve gotten here in Kentucky the last few days, and I’ve definitely lost my motivation to run outside in this mess. I’ve come to the conclusion that I’ve either gotten soft, or I’m just way too picky.
- Fat Tastes Good. Period.Posted on Thursday, January 15th, 2009 in Uncategorized – Comments: (3)Several of my friends and I were sitting around talking before lunch at work yesterday. It was windy and cold outside, and I wasn’t motivated to go run. We were trying to decide where to eat. I suggested eating healthy. Maybe Subway? Then, one of the guys pipes up with “…fat tastes good, man. Accept it!” Wow.Fat Does Taste GoodWith that single statement, he won the argument.
- Getting Started – My Fitness ProfilePosted on Monday, January 12th, 2009 in Goals – Comments: (2)This past weekend, our family went to The Medical Center Health & Wellness Expo. Included in the expo were area businesses that serve the fitness needs of the community, alongside members of the healthcare industry. I learned that I could start the preliminary stages of my fitness profile to baseline exactly where I stand in my fitness journey. My Fitness ProfileI learned a few things I didn’t know about tools available in our community for monitoring and maintaining fitness.
- Too Much Exercise Can Be Bad, TooPosted on Wednesday, January 28th, 2009 in Goals – Comments: (4)Here’s something that we don’t often talk about on fitness blogs. The fact that too much exercise can be as bad (or worse) than too little. It’s probably a subject that should be considered more frequently. I know that I’ve overdone it a few times while chasing the goal to improve my fitness. In fact, just yesterday I was out for a run when my former running partner pulled up alongside me on his bicycle.
