Falling Off The Wagon
Yesterday was not a good day for calorie count and weight management. Although I did make it to the gym, my eating left a lot to be desired. As much as it pains me to admit it, here’s the list:
- coffee with milk and sugar — 50 cal
- 2 pieces of whole grain toast with butter — 200
- 1 tbsp honey — 64 cal
- 1 tbsp grape jelly — 50
- 2 eggs, scrambled — 100 cal
- 1 small bag of peanut M&M’s — 240 cal
- 1 thin slice of homemade banana nut bread (my wife’s banana nut bread is irresistible, and I’m trying here…) — 200 cal (best guess here)
- 1 12 oz RC — 150 cal
- Chik Fil A sandwich — 410 cal
- Chik Fil A fries — 370 cal
- Unsweet tea (small victory) — 0 cal
- handful of M&M’s — 240 cal
- Mixed vegetables with shrimp at local restaurant — 400 cal
- 1/4 cup white rice — 60-cal
- 1/2 cup ice cream — 250 cal
- Total: 2784 calories
It sure seemed a lot worse than this before I added up the calories. I expected it to be around 3500. Even at that though, I usually float somewhere around 2200 calories/day. I can sure tell that I felt worse at the end of the day from the extra food. As you can see, the day started off pretty well, but quickly went downhill. It wouldn’t have been so bad if I’d given up on 2 or 3 of the junk items. Oh well. I guess some days you lose the battle. Tomorrow is another day.
